2009-10 (freshman): In first outdoor season with Wildcats he had best throws of 42-6 in shot (Texas-Arlington), 150-1 in discus (Oliver Jackson Classic) and 141-0 in javelin (McMurry). Best league finish was 13th in discus at 141-3.

High School: Football and track and field letterman. Second team all-district in football, placed third at Class 3A state meet in discus with personal best throw of 168-7. Also has mark of 50-9 in shot put. Played OT and DT for 12-2 Bulldog football team as senior with second team all-district honors and captain.
