Fall 2009: Sheppard had three finishes of 20 or better including his best finish 16^th at the Territory Classic. Shot a low round for the fall of 70 at the Charles Coody West Texas Intercollegiate tournament. He had an average score of 73 and earned a National Rating of 129 by golfstat.com.

Midland College: Tyler recorded six top 10 finishes three of which were in the top 5. Helped Midland College to a team National Title as a freshmen in 2008 and a third place finish in 2009. He was named All-Conference and also named to the NJCAA Academic All-America team. 

High School: As a prep Sheppard was a two time All-District selection. He helped Midland Lee to four consecutive District titles for head coach Bobby Dunn.
