Hollingsed, Wildcats Climb Leaderboard at Canadian Collegiate Invitational

MACTIER, Ont., Canada — Abilene Christian men's golf rose two spots into seventh place through two rounds at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational at Öviinbyrd Golf Club on Monday. Jack Hollingsed soared over 30 spots into a tie for 20th place after posting a score of 2-under 69 in the second round.
The Wildcats scored 7-over 291 on Monday to enter Tuesday's third and final round at 20-over 588. They'll begin with an 8:30 a.m. (CDT) shotgun start. ACU is five strokes behind sixth-place Rutgers with New Mexico leading the 13-team field at 15-under 553.
The Wildcats are tied for fifth on par 3s at 9-over and are knotted for second with 112 pars. Hollingsed was remarkably consistent in the second round, registering three birdies and scoring above par on just one hole. It marked an eight-stroke improvement from the opening round. He's tied for second in the field on par 5s at 5-under.
Hollingsed met Luis Buech in a tie for 20th place at 4-over 146 to pace ACU. Buech maintained a share of the Wildcats' lead with a 3-over 74 performance featuring three birdies.
Rex Hargrove was right behind in a tie for 26th place at 5-over 147. He's the Wildcats leader with seven birdies after carding a pair on Monday. Hargrove is tied for seventh on par 3s at even par.
Maximilian Björnström rose seven spots into a tie for 41st place at 8-over 150. He improved his score by strokes with a 3-over 74 second round. Björnström is drawn for sixth with 24 pars.
Kade McDonough rounded out the lineup in a tie for 64th at 13-over 155. He scored 8-over 79 on Monday.
