ABILENE – The Wildcats dropped game two of their weekend series against Indiana on Saturday afternoon at Bullock Brothers Ballpark, as the Hoosiers used a series of big innings to secure a 14-5 win and even the three-game set.
The Wildcats saw early trouble from Indiana, which scored multiple runs in the first, third, fifth, and seventh innings. Despite a mid-game spark from the ACU offense, Indiana's 17-hit performance proved too much to overcome.
Diego Cardenas led the charge for ACU at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in the 5th and a total of two runs scored. Grant Watkins added a two-base hit and drove in a run, while Nick Arias and Brady Gray contributed RBI and a single apiece. ACU put up a three-run rally in the fifth to close the gap to 11-5, but the Hoosiers responded with insurance runs in the following two frames.
Game three of the series is set for Sunday afternoon with the first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
