
Adkison Promoted to Associate Head Coach

ABILENE – ACU Soccer has announced the promotion of Audrey Adkison to Associate Head Coach for ACU Soccer. Adkison, who has been an integral part of the coaching staff, brings an extensive track record of success and mentorship at multiple levels of collegiate soccer.
"I am ecstatic today to be in a position to congratulate Audrey Adkison on her promotion to Associate Head Coach," Salas said. "I continue to be impressed by the life she lives and the example she sets for our community and our program. She is a person of tremendous authenticity, resilience, and spiritual fervor."
In 2023, Adkison was recognized as one of the United Soccer Coaches' 30 Under 30 honorees, further cementing her impact in the sport. Nominees had to be under 30 years old, be an active member of United Soccer Coaches and have a minimum of two years of coaching experience. From that large group, USC selected 15 men and 15 women to receive the honor. This past January she was honored and presented at the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago.
Soon after Adkison received the 2024 United Soccer Coaches Advocacy Award of Excellence, as she was bestowed with the Faith-Based Coaches Award.The United Soccer Coaches Advocacy Group Awards of Excellence honors an individual that has shown a commitment and outstanding work on behalf of the values of each of the respective groups, meeting the association's highest ideals of influence in the game.
For the 2023-2024 season Coach Adkison received ACU's Assistant Coach of the Year Award. In ACU's inaugural year for the award, Adkison earned this for her impact with the program and throughout ACU's Athletic Department.
Over the past two seasons Audrey has helped the Wildcats to back to back five game unbeaten streaks to start the season, multiple offensive and defensive player of the week awards, and ACU's first WAC 1st Team All-Conference honoree.
"Audrey brings a transformational mindset and experience to our program every day," said Salas. "She consistently proves to be an innovative professional, determined competitor, and spiritual mentor.. When I was fortunate enough to hire her three years ago, I was confident she was not just a great hire, but perhaps more importantly the right fit for our program. Before joining ACU, she spent four seasons at Liberty University, where she helped guide the Flames to a 42-23-10 overall record, including a dominant 20-8-4 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Liberty won the 2022 A-SUN championship with an 8-0-2 conference record, and multiple players earned all-conference and all-region accolades under her leadership.
Before her tenure at Liberty, Adkison was an assistant coach at Central Arkansas from 2016-2018, playing a key role in the program's success. The Bears claimed two Southland Conference Championships during her time in Conway, amassing 42 wins and a .677 winning percentage.
Throughout her coaching career, Adkison has mentored numerous standout players, including six all-region selections, two conference players of the year, and five athletes who have played professionally. She holds a USSF Class B license and a USC Goalkeeping Level I diploma, demonstrating her commitment to player development and coaching excellence.
A former collegiate standout herself, Adkison played at Harding University, where she was a two-year captain and earned multiple All-Conference, All-Region, and Academic All-American honors. She also competed with the Women's Premier Soccer League's (WPSL) Treasure Coast Dynamites in Florida.
