ARLINGTON, Texas - Abilene Christian soccer's
Lili Ross was named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. Ross is the second Wildcat goalie to receive the honor this season after
Bella Medrano was recognized on Sept. 16.
Ross, a senior from Beaumont, Texas, was strong in the net while starting ACU's matchups with Utah Tech and Southern Utah last week. She notched six saves across 90 minutes, allowing just one goal as the Wildcats tied the Trailblazers, 1-1, and shut out the Thunderbirds, 4-0, at Elmer Gray Stadium for their fifth clean sheet of the year.
Ross tallied a pair of saves in the first half against Utah Tech before Medrano took over for the final 45 minutes. On Senior Day, Ross got the start against Southern Utah and made four saves before
Emma Konsmo held strong in the second half. Ross faced 13 shots between both matches.
Ross is tied for fifth in the WAC with six total saves and 3.00 saves per game in two conference matchups. Her .857 save percentage in such matches leads the WAC, while her 1.00 goals against average is third-best.
ACU kicks off a three-match road swing versus Tarleton State at 7 p.m. Friday in Stephenville, Texas.
