Wildcats Continue WAC Road Swing in Seattle

The ACU men's basketball team plays the second game of its three straight road contests to begin WAC play on Saturday night at Seattle U.

Tip-off is at 9 p.m. CT at Climate Pledge Arena.

The Wildcats (8-8, 0-1) lost their conference lid-lifter at Utah Valley 64-53 last Saturday. ACU shot a season-low 32% from the field, including sinking just one of ten 3-point attempts. It was the third consecutive game in which ACU has scored less than 59 points.

Seattle U (5-10, 0-1) is coming off a 61-59 loss at California Baptist. The Redhawks tied the game at 51-all with 3:26 remaining, but were outscored 10-3 over the next 3:15.

Saturday's game will be streamed on ESPN+. There will not be an ACU radio broadcast.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Oklahoma State transfer Quion Williams recorded his ninth straight game with at least 10 points in the loss at Utah Valley.
  • Bradyn Hubbard tied his season-high with 16 points off the bench.
  • Hunter Jack Madden started his 50th consecutive game with ACU. He has started 62 total games for the Wildcats, but has been held scoreless in back-to-back games for the first time since the 2022-23 season.

TRACKING THE DEFENSE
  • ACU ranks No. 11 in the NCAA, and No. 2 in the WAC, with 16.7 turnovers forced per game. ACU is 3-1 this season when forcing 20+ turnovers.
  • The Wildcats are also 16th in the country with an average of 10 steals per game.

SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE
  • The winter storm bringing snow and freezing rain to Abilene has also impacted the team's travel plans. The Wildcats' Thursday flight out of Dallas-Ft. Worth was canceled, and the team will now fly Friday.

SCOUTING SEATTLE U
  • The Redhawks feature the 3rd best scoring defense in the WAC with 71 points allowed per game this season.
  • Seattle U also ranks 3rd in 3-point percentage (35%) and rebound margin (+4.2).
  • Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe is the only WAC player that currently averages a double-double with 14.8 points and 10.9 rebounds a game. His 131 total boards lead the conference.

UP NEXT
After Saturday's game in Seattle, ACU finishes its three-game swing away from Abilene with a matchup at Grand Canyon on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. CT.
