The loss snapped ACU's nine-game winning streak, the program's longest since the 2015-2016 season. The Wildcats had controlled much of the contest, leading for over 24 minutes, including a critical 11-point run in the fourth quarter that put them in position to secure the victory.
The Wildcats held the lead for over 24 minutes and showcased their effort throughout the contest, tying the score 11 times and exchanging the lead 11 more. Payton Hull paced ACU with 17 points and five rebounds, while Mia Rivers contributed nine points, six rebounds, and three steals. Defensively, the Wildcats forced 18 turnovers and grabbed 11 offensive boards to stay competitive.
The first overtime period saw ACU trading baskets with Utah Valley, with neither team able to gain a decisive edge.
