Andruw Villa Named WAC Athlete of the Week

ABILENE – ACU freshman Andruw Villa has been named one of the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Cross Country Athletes of the Week following his outstanding performance at the Gerald Richey UTA Invitational on September 7.
Villa showcased his talent by finishing third individually in the men's 5K race with an impressive time of 14:58.6, marking a strong start to his season and collegiate career.
"Andruw has come here and immediately made an impact," said head coach Nathan Meeuenberg." We knew he was a high performing athlete last year and that he would succeed here at ACU. He is a local kid and is making me, this team, this university, and this city proud. It will be fun to continue to coach Andruw and see where this sport can take him."
Villa's finish helped solidify ACU's presence in a competitive field and continues to highlight his role as a key contributor to the Wildcats' cross country success.
