
Lewis in top-10 after one round of action at Argent Financial Classic

CHOUDRANT, La. — After the first round at the Squire Creek Country Club, senior Jaime Lewis finished tied for sixth of the field while the Wildcats sit in seventh overall.
Lewis finished the first round of action on Sunday after right on par for the tournament at 72. He is seven strokes behind the current overall leader, Lukas Boandl from Rice University.
As for the Wildcats as a whole, the team finished five strokes over par, and sit alone in seventh place. Currently, South Alabama and Rice sit at a tie for first shooting two strokes under par. Houston sits alone in second one stroke under par while Louisiana and Troy sit in third and fourth place shooting at par and one stroke over par, respectively.
Just above the Wildcats are three teams tied for fifth and four teams tied for sixth. The fifth-placed teams, Little Rock, host Louisiana Tech A-team and Lamar all sit at three strokes over par. As for the sixth-placed teams, Western Kentucky, Southern Mississippi, Middle Tennessee and UAB only have a one-stroke lead over the Wildcats. Other teams sitting below the Wildcats are Jacksonville State, North Texas, UL-Monroe, Louisiana Tech's B-team and Nicholls.
As for the rest of the Wildcats, Thomas Buisson and Preston DeFriend sit tied in thirty-first, both shooting one stroke over par. Trenton Johnson sits tied at 55th with 13 other student-athletes. Brian Comegys rounds out the ground at six strokes over par.
The Wildcats will begin the second round of play on Monday. Brian Comegys will begin at 8:20 a.m., Trenton Johnson will begin at 8:30 a.m., Preston DeFriend will begin at 8:40 a.m., Thomas Buisson will tee off at 8:50 a.m. and ACU leader Jaime Lewis will begin exactly at 9 a.m., all times being in Central Standard Time.
