ABILENE -Â When most ACU fans last saw
Anthony Egbo, Jr. he was making plays at Wildcat Stadium.
Though Egbo's days as a football player are over, he is still making an impact on the university.
"I used up every last day I could until they had to pull me off the field and say, 'No more,'" said Egbo, who went from a walk-on to a starting defensive back.
Egbo is the new director of the Wildcat Club, which is the fundraising organization that helps all 15 of ACU's athletic programs.
His new day-to-day role involves talking with people and building relationships that can link people back to ACU.
"My job is to help [people] get involved and make them feel a part of it, because they are a part of it. The generosity of the people that love ACU is what keeps those experiences going."

"We are thrilled to have Anthony join our team as the director of the Wildcat Club," said Vice President for Athletics
Zack Lassiter. "Not only did he enjoy success as a member of our football team, but he is also a tremendous leader on our campus and on the national stage.
"The best thing about Anthony is that he has a gift of building relationships and he models the values of Christ. They will both serve him well in this role. We are blessed to have him on our team!"
During his six years as a student-athlete, Egbo was the president of ACU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was voted to be a team captain.
"If people can get a glimpse of what I got – in the community, on the field, off the field, the development I got as an athlete -- I know I'm making a difference if I can recreate that for others," said Egbo.
"I can't think of a better way to start my professional life than trying to recreate the experience I had for other athletes at a place like this that is special to me."
