Soccer Hits the Road for First Roadtrip of Season

ABILENE - After opening the season with two ties against UTEP and Lamar, the ACU Wildcats are gearing up for their first road trip. They will face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m., looking to secure their first win.
"This will be our first away series and the team is hungry to compete after our first two games," said head coach Stephen Salas. "They've taken every training to heart, and our coaching staff sees the improvement daily. We aim to live the life of being one on and off the field. I am super proud of how this team continues to step up and grow. "
The Wildcats will stay on the road for another test against Northwestern State on Sept. 1.
"Both of these teams are in the upper half of their conference with a lot of pride at home," Salas said. "We are taking a lengthy road trip to each team and will test our mentality in and around the game. Both coaches are relatively new to their programs, so we expect a new look and energy to the teams. We have much to prove in focusing on these games. Our ultimate goal continues to be competing for a conference championship and this is a step in that direction."
