ST. GEORGE, Utah – Abilene Christian rallied from down 5-0 to take a 9-7 win at Utah Tech on Sunday to seal the series sweep.

Gino D'Alessio went four-for-five with three RBIs and two runs.

The Trailblazers scored in each of the first five innings and had a 5-0 lead heading into the top of the fifth inning.

The Wildcats got on the board then with an RBI single by
Benjamin Greer and an RBI double by D'Alessio.
Â
Utah Tech went ahead 6-2 in the bottom of the fifth, but the Wildcats chipped away.

Reese Borho had a solo home run and
Miller Ladusau added a sacrifice fly to cut the Tech lead to 6-4 in the sixth.

Maddox Miesse added another sacrifice fly to make it a 6-5 game in the seventh.

ACU took the lead in the eighth with four runs. Greer drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game and D'Alessio delivered the lead with a two-run single. D'Alessio later scored on an error.

Brett Garcia got the win in relief, allowing one unearned run while striking out four in his three innings.

In addition to D'Alessio's four hits, the Cats got two from Greer and one each from Ladusau,
Garrett Williams, Borho,
Zandt Payne,
Aaron Staehely and
Holden Rook.

Now 27-17 overall and 14-5 in the WAC, ACU finishes its Utah trip with a game at Brigham Young at noon (Central) on Monday.
