ST. GEORGE, Utah – Abilene Christian claimed its second win at Utah Tech on Saturday, clinching the series with a 9-4 win.
Iain Campa got the pitching win, going five innings with three strikeouts.
The Wildcats scored four runs in the top of the first on a two-run single by
Gino D'Alessio, and RBI singles by
Garrett Williams and
Reese Borho.
The Cats went up 6-1 in the fourth inning on
Miller Ladusau's two-run base hit,
Williams added a two-run double and Borho contributed a sacrifice fly for a 9-2 ACU lead in the seventh.
ACU had 11 hits, led by Williams with three while Ladusau and D'Alessio each had two.
Benjamin Greer had a double and
Aaron Staehely, Borho and
Zandt Payne added one hit each.
Rolando De La Cruz had a strikeout in his scoreless inning of relief.
ACU and Utah Tech finish the series with a 1:05 p.m. (Central) contest on Sunday.
