ST. GEORGE, Utah – Abilene Christian blew open a close game with an eight seventh inning for a 10-3 win at Utah Tech on Friday.
 
After the Blazers went ahead 2-0 in the top of the first, ACU tied the game in the fifth with a two-run single by 
Garrett Williams.
 
That 2-2 score stood until the Wildcats scored the rest of their runs in the seventh.
 
Benjamin Greer got the parade going with a two-run double for ACU's first lead. 
Reese Borho scored on a wild pitch and 
Gino D'Alessio came up with a three-run double to make it 8-2. 
DJ Van Atten added a two-run double for a 10-2 margin.
 
Austin Glaze (4-3) got the win, finishing six innings with nine strikeouts. 
Chandler Freeman and 
Dash Albus added a scoreless inning of relief each. Albus had three strikeouts.
 
The Cats had 11 hits, paced by D'Alessio with three. Williams and Greer had two each. 
Miller Ladusau, 
Maddox Miesse, Van Atten and 
Holden Rook added one each.
 
Game two of the three-game set launches at 3:05 p.m. (Central) on Saturday.
