ABILENE – Abilene Christian got its second run-rule win of the series with a 12-2 victory over UC Davis on Saturday.
The Wildcats scored three times in the first inning on an RBI double by
Miller Ladusau and a two-run home run by
Gino D'Alessio.
ACU went ahead 6-0 in the second with an RBI single by
Reese Borho, a sacrifice fly by Ladusau and a passed ball that scored
Holden Rook.
After the Aggies scored twice in the third, ACU made it 7-2 in the home half on an RBI double by Rook.
DJ Van Atten added an RBI single for an 8-2 lead in the fourth.
The final four runs came in the sixth on an RBI double by Van Atten, a two-run single by
Zandt Payne and a run-scoring double play.
The Cats racked up 17 hits with D'Alessio, Van Atten and
Garrett Williams getting three each. Ladusau, Borho and Rook had two hits apiece and
Benjamin Greer and Payne contributed one each.
Iain Campa allowed two runs over five innings for the win, striking our four.
Rolando De La Cruz pitched two hitless innings in relief.
The Cats and Aggies finish the series with a 12:05 p.m. contest on Sunday.
