SEATTLE – Abilene Christian struggled offensively and lost at Seattle on Thursday, 59-54.
The Wildcats turned the ball over 16 times and shot 31.7 percent from the field.
Seattle took a 47-46 lead into the fourth quarter and was able to hold on despite the Wildcats holding the hosts to 12 points in the quarter.
After SU scored the first six points of the quarter,
Clare Traeger hit a three-pointer to make it a 53-49 game. The ACU defense was able to keep the Redhawks from scoring for more than five minutes but the offense was not equal to the task and went for a critical five minutes.
Payton Hull ended that drought with a three-pointer at the 1:03 mark to cut SU's lead to 57-54 but the Cats went 0-4 from there.
Addison Martin led the Wildcats with 19 points – 15 in the first half. Hull finished with 15 and Traeger scored 10 points to go with eight rebounds.
ACU finishes the regular season at 3 p.m. (Central) on Saturday when it visits Utah Valley in Orem.
