ABILENE – Abilene Christian lost its series with Utah Valley on a 5-2 setback on Saturday.
ACU tied the game at 1-1 in the third when
Sammie Shelander singled home
Olivia Marble.
The Wolverines scored two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth for a 5-1 lead.
The Wildcats got one run back on an RBI double by
Catrin Hoffman in the sixth.
Lina Russo took the loss.
ACU had five hits. In addition to Hoffman's double, the Cats got singles by Shelander,
Kaydee Bennett, Marble and
Elizabeth Schaefer.
The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday when Texas Tech visits for a 5 p.m. contest.
