ABILENE – Abilene Christian returns to the courts on Friday at Lamar for an 11 a.m. contest.
ACU is 6-8 on the season in a battle with injuries and position adjustments. The Cats are looking to end a four-game slide.
The Wildcats beat Lamar 4-0 in Abilene earlier in February.
ACU clinched the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3.
Daniel Morozov and
Dario Kmet got the 6-1 win on the first line and
Mihaly Deli and
Merse Deli won on the third line.
Ethan Scribner and
Benjamin McDonald were tied 5-5 at No. 2 doubles when that match was suspended.
Cesar Barranquero won at No. 3 singles and Kmet at No. 2 singles, both in straight sets. Morozov got the match-ending win at No. 1 singles in a pair of 7-6 sets.
Morozov leads the Cats with 13 singles wins while
Merse Deli leads with six singles victories in the spring duals.
Mihaly Deli leads ACU with six doubles wins this spring, including a 5-0 mark at No. 3 with Merse.
Lamar is 4-7 on the season after a 4-0 loss at Arkansas.
