COMMERCE – Abilene Christian dropped a pair of games to start the Lion Invitational on Saturday, falling 8-1 to Omaha and 3-0 to South Dakota.
In the 8-1 loss to Omaha, ACU fell behind 4-0 in the first inning. The Cats got their run in the second inning when
Bubba Rote singled and scored on an RBI base hit by
Olivia Marble.
The Wildcats also had a single by Randi Davila.
Talia Nielsen took the loss.
Lina Russo took the loss in the second game despite giving up just two earned runs on five hits while striking out five.
Kaydee Bennett had a double and two singles and
Sammie Shelander added a single.
The Cats play Sunday at 9 a.m. against Omaha before facing Texas A&M-Commerce at 2 p.m.
