Box Score OREM, Utah – Abilene Christian struggled to a 24-percent shooting day and dropped a 74-45 decision at Utah Valley on Saturday.
Ali Abdou Dibba scored 17 points in his first game back from injury and
Hunter Jack Madden added 11.
Kavion McClain racked up seven assists and
Airion Simmons led the team with five rebounds.
ACU had a 13-9 lead nine minutes into the game but the Wolverines took the lead for good midway through the first half.
ACU was down 30-22 at the half and the Wildcats got within three with 18:46 left after Simmons scored inside and Madden added a three-pointer to make it 30-27 with 18:46 left in the game. The Wildcats were able to keep it to a one- or two-possession game over the next five minutes but UVU put the game on ice with a 14-0 run for a 55-38 lead with 10 minutes to go.
The Wildcats continue their four-game road swing on Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. visit to UTRGV.
