MIAMI - The ACU women's basketball team continued to roll on the road with an 87-67 win over Florida International in the FIU Thanksgiving Classic Championship on Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats (5-4 overall) defeated Sacramento State 75-53 on Friday to advance to the title game. ACU has now won three straight away games -- a 61-53 win at UIW and their two victories over the weekend in Miami.
Mia Rivers filled the stat sheet with 14 points, eight steals and seven assists. All three totals set new season-high marks for Rivers, who transferred from Division II Texas A&M-Kingsville before this season.
KEY POINTS
- Payton Hull poured in a new-season high 29 points. She has gone for 20+ points in five of ACU's nine games so far.
- Bella Earle chipped in 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
- The Wildcats led by 12 points after the first quarter, but carried just a 61-56 edge into the fourth. ACU outscored the Panthers 26-11 in the final frame.
- ACU led for 37:54 and converted 29 FIU turnovers into 37 points. The Panthers only scored 13 points off turnovers.
- The Wildcats defeated FIU in Miami for the second time in a 23-day span. ACU beat the Panthers 76-73 on Nov. 8 as part of the WAC-Conference USA Challenge.

The Wildcats complete their four-game road swing with a match against former WAC foe UTRGV on Wednesday. The Vaqueros enter the game with a 3-4 record, but are 1-4 against Division I competition. Tip-off from Edinburg is at 6:30 p.m.
ACU's next home contest is Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. versus East Texas A&M.
