Volleyball Hosts Texas Tech on Tuesday

ABILENE – Texas Tech visits Abilene Christian for the Wildcats' Purple Out Volleyball match on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
 
The Wildcats look to avenge a 3-1 loss earlier this season at Texas Tech.
 
ACU rides into Tuesday on a three-match winning streak.
 
ACU Storylines
 
STREAK:
After falling behind Providence 2-0 on Friday, the Wildcats finished off the ACU Tournament with a nine-set win streak to take wins over Providence, North Dakota and Grambling State.
 
EDMISTON ROLLING: Ashli Edmiston picked up where she left off after last season's Freshman of the Year campaign. She led the team with 51 kills last week. Edmiston led the Cats with 20 kills in the match at Texas Tech.
 
BO-BO-BLOCK: Braden Bossier and Breanna Box have matching 0.65 blocks per set averages and lead the Wildcats with 15 blocks apiece.
 
DIGGING THOSE ACES: Sara Carrizales leads the Wildcats in a couple of categories. The sophomore libero has a team-leading 4.25 digs per set average and has 12 aces. She had 23 digs in the loss at Texas Tech last month.
 
SETTING PRETTY: Madeline Guffy and Rachel Koss have had the spotlight as setters this season. Guffy averages 10 per game and Koss stands at 9.44.

  • Former ACU head coach Alisa Blair is now associate head coach at Texas Tech
  • Texas Tech is 6-1 with a match Monday at North Texas. The lone blemish came at the hands of Wyoming.
  • Brynn Williams averages 4.48 kills per set for Tech. She had 16 in the previous match with ACU.
  • Reese Rhodes gets 9.75 assists per game – down a touch from her 43 in the match with the Wildcats last month.
