Cross Country Opens Friday at TCU

ABILENE – The Abilene Christian cross country season opens in Fort Worth on Friday morning with the Wildcats going to TCU's John McKenzie Invitational at AP Ranch.
It will be the first meet for new ACU cross country coach Nathan Meeuwenberg.
Originally scheduled to run in McMurry's Big Country Festival but made the change because of heavy road construction.
ACU Storylines
FIRST UP: This is the first meet for Abilene Christian this season, Nathan Meeuwenberg's first as the team's head coach, and the first college meet for five freshmen. Kyla Fuller, Hadley Phillips and Autumn Smith are freshmen on the women's team and Mikhail Fortner and Zach Martin represent the men's team as freshmen.
EARLY BIRDS: The switch in meets put the Cats in a 7:45 a.m. start for the women and 8:15 for the men on Friday. The Big Country Festival would have been an evening meet, starting at 7:30 p.m.
EQUAL DISTANCE: The course for both men's and women's race is listed at 5K.
DON'T WORRY 'BOUT IT: The pace for the season is to patiently build toward the WAC Championship. The first tune-up for the Cats is just a starting place.
