ABILENE – Abilene Christian women's soccer picked up Nebraska-Omaha transfer Emma Nylund, who joins the Wildcats as a sophomore.
A 5-4 midfielder, Nylund was a standout at Tom C. Clark High School in San Antonio.
"Emma is a competitor, a talent on both sides of the ball, and will make an immediate impact right away," said ACU Head Coach Stephen Salas. "I've kept up with her throughout her standout high school and club playing career. Emma was one of the top players coming out of the state and especially out of the San Antonio area. Her tenacity on the ball and work ethic are high caliber. I'm excited to bring Emma back to Texas and for her to finish her career as a Wildcat!"
Nylund came up with 87 points through her first three high school seasons with 27 goals and 33 assists. She earned All-Region as a junior when she had 17 goals and 16 assists. As an All-District sophomore, Nylund had six goals and 12 assists and helped her team to a 19-3-2 mark.
A four-time Academic All-District honoree, Nylund was All-Region, All-Area, All-District and MVP Midfield in Texas 6A District 28 in 2021-22 with 13 goals and nine assists.
She comes from an athletic family. Her father, Scott, played football at Fort Hays and her sister currently plays soccer at Missouri Western.
"I chose ACU for the welcoming culture, competitive, but still supportive, soccer atmosphere, passionate coaching staff, and of course the amazing community," said Nylund.
