Throwers Look Strong in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO – Abilene Christian's throwers came out firing at San Angelo State's David Noble Relays on Friday, getting three event wins and a top-10 school mark.
 
Kaitlyn Callaway won the javelin with a throw of 144 feet, 10 inches, which is the sixth-best mark at ACU.
 
Zoe Burleson won the shot put at 48-8.75 and captured the discus at 164-1. Kailey Roskop finished fourth in the discus at 138-1.
 
Roskop finished second in the hammer throw at 160-7, with Burleson finishing fourth at 149-8 and Callaway seventh at 140-9.
 
Nathanial Collier placed second in the men's discus at 168-11, followed by Athan Huelskamp in fourth at 164-0 and Colt Cooper at 160-11.
 
Huelskamp was second in the shot put at 56-2.5 and Cooper was ninth at 48-5.
 
ACU takes to the track on Saturday at the North Texas Classic in Denton.
