ABILENE – Abilene Christian came up empty in a 3-0 loss to Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Thursday, falling 25-17, 25-22, 26-24.
"I think we played a really good team and we didn't play as we wanted to," said ACU Head Coach Ijeoma Moronu Alstrup. It felt a lot like the SFA match. It was nice to see us fight back in the third set and have different people contributing throughout the match."
Braden Bossier led the Cats with nine kills and
Madeline Guffy put up 33 assists.
Bryley Steinhilber and
Andie Sheppard had two aces each.
Defensively, Sheppard and
Sara Carrizales had 11 digs each and Bossier was in on three blocks.
Now 10-11 overall and 5-4 in the Western Athletic Conference, the Wildcats go to Tarleton State on Monday for a 6 p.m. contest.
