ST. GEORGE, Utah – Abilene Christian took an early lead but couldn't hold on in a 3-1 loss at Utah Tech on Sunday.
Taylor Denn scored for ACU in the third minute for a 1-0 lead by Utah Tech tied the game in the eighth minute and took the lead for good in the 21st minute. The hosts added a third goal in the second half.

Peyton Hill had two shots on goal each to lead the Cats.
Lili Ross had three saves.
"It was a nice goal by Taylor and we put up a strong fight until the end," said ACU Head Coach Stephen Salas. "Late in the season, we are carrying some small injuries in key positions. The goals we gave up are areas of discipline we are continually developing and will focus our efforts on this week. We are excited to come back home for our last two games of the season and are still in it for the pursuit of a conference tournament bid."
The Wildcats host Grand Canyon on Thursday at 7 p.m. and California Baptist on Sunday at noon. ACU needs to win both games to have a chance to be one of the six teams to play in the WAC Championship later this month.
