NACOGDOCHES – Abilene Christian had an off day on the volleyball court, falling to Stephen F. Austin on Saturday, 3-0.
ACU fell 25-18, 25-14, 25-19.
"We played a tough opponent today and we weren't able to rise to the challenge like we had hoped," said Ijeoma Moronu Alstrup. "SFA has a solid squad and there is no getting around that but we left the court today feeling like we had more to give. We will take the loss as an opportunity to grow and come back stronger than we were going into the match.
Ashli Edmiston and
Braden Bossier led the Wildcats with seven kills each with Bossier adding a block.
Madeline Guffy had 23 assists and
Andie Sheppard led the Cats with nine digs.
ACU returns home next week, hosting Texas-Rio Grande Valley at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
"We can't wait to compete again, back in Moody, in front of our own home crowd on Thursday against another very solid team in UTRGV," said Moronu Alstrup.
