ABILENE – The ACU soccer team used great defense and a timely goal in the first half on Sunday to top the Tigers of Texas Southern, 1-0.
Brennan Reuland scored in the 19th minute to spark the victory on Senior Day, right after the program honored its nine seniors for their contributions over the last four years. ACU stays undefeated at home, and moves to 4-2-1 on the season. The 'Cats now take their four-match unbeaten streak into WAC play next weekend.
"I'm proud of the win," said head coach
Casey Wilson. "But it was frustrating not to find the back of the net more during this game. We created a lot of opportunities today, which was fantastic, but just need to capitalize."
The Goals
- 19' | Reuland scored her second goal of the year after a beautiful pass from
Caylen Wright. Reuland, off the deflection, was able to convert it with her left foot for the score.
The Numbers
- ACU held a significant advantage, 21-8, in shot attempts Sunday. Included was a 9-4 edge in shots on frame.

Caylen Wright led the way with six shot attempts, while Reuland and
Natalie Jones tallied three apiece.

Jordan Michie each had two shots.

Lily Foster got the start in net and tallied four saves in the first half.
Lili Ross took over in the second half, but did not see a shot on frame.
- Sunday is ACU's fourth win of the season, all shutouts; ACU had just two shutouts in 2021.
