Wildcats tie for second at U.S. Open course, Heusel lands in top three

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – After the first two rounds were rained out on Monday, the ACU golf team wrapped up the one-round Redhawk Invitational on Tuesday, coming in a tie for second place with a team score of 8-over par. Zane Heusel led the way for the Purple and White, turning in a round of 71 and a top three finish.
"I'm really proud of the guys showing a lot of resiliency in very difficult weather conditions that we haven't seen yet this year on a course. On top of that, this is a U.S. Open venue so it is very demanding, and we played well from top to bottom," head coach Tom Shaw said. "All of our individual scores were in the top 15, which is a first of us. Zane played tremendous all day, which we were very pleased with. Overall, this was an awesome experience getting to play in a different part of the country, which will help us moving forward."
