NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Hunter Gieser hit a pair of home runs, five players recorded multiple hits, and the ACU baseball team clinched the series win at SFA on Saturday, taking game two, 13-9. The Wildcats (22-20, 10-10 WAC) erupted for six runs in the second inning to gain an early lead and never looked back on the way to their third-consecutive win and fifth in a row against SFA. The 'Cats launched five home runs in the game, the second-most in a single game this year. ACU goes for the series win on Sunday, and looks to improve on now its three-game cushion for fourth place in the WAC Southwest Division standings.
How It Happened

Colton Eager got the game started with a bang three batters in, launching a two-run home run down the right field line to go up 2-0.

Bryson Hill added to the fun with a solo home run to right in the top of the second inning to lead 3-0.

Grayson Tatrow drove in two runs with a single up the middle to extend the lead to 5-0, and
Tanner Tweedt singled two batters later to push the lead to 6-0 in the second inning.
- A balk scored another run, and then
Miller Ladusau singled up the middle to score another, and the six-run inning pushed the advantage to 8-0.
- Gieser launched his first of two homers Saturday in the top of the third, a solo shot to go up 9-0.
- SFA responded with a five-run bottom of the third inning to get within 9-5. There were 14 runs score in the first 18 outs of the ballgame.
- The Lumberjacks also made it 9-6 with another run in the bottom of the fourth.
- Gieser put one out past the right center field wall in the fifth inning for ACU's 10th run of the game.

Bash Randle joined the home run derby with a two-run shot in the fifth, and at the halfway point of the game, the 'Cats led 12-6.
- SFA scored one in the seventh and two in the eighth to make it a 12-9 game.
- Tweedt added the final insurance run with a single in the ninth to give ACU a 13-9 lead they would hold onto.

- Gieser's homers were his ninth and 10th of the season, making him the second player to have double-digit blasts of the season.

- Dickson, Eager, Tweedt, Gieser, and Randle each tallied two hits, while those four along with Tatrow each drove in a pair of runs.
Beyond the Box Score
- Gieser had his second multi-homer day of the season, and the fifth for ACU in 2022.
- ACU is now up to 64 home runs this season, the most in a single campaign since joining Division I. The all-time program record is 67 in 2010.
- The five homers Saturday are tied for the second-most in a single game this season.
