Tatrow, Wildcats complete six-game sweep of SFA

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Grayson Tatrow set a new program record, the top two hitters in the lineup drove in seven runs, and the ACU baseball team completed a rare six-game sweep over SFA on Sunday with a 10-4 victory to close out the weekend. The Wildcats (23-20, 11-10 WAC) scored five in the fourth and four in the fifth to break open the game, and never looked back on their way to a six-run victory. With nine games remaining in the remaining in conference play this season, this weekend went a long way to punching the ticket to the WAC Tournament at the end of the month.

How It Happened

- Tatrow's at-bat tied the game in the top of the third after reaching on an error, allowing Bash Randle to score.
- Hunter Gieser kept his remarkable weekend going with another home run, this one a solo shot, to take a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth inning. The lead would not trade hands again.
- The 'Cats loaded the bases in the fourth, and Tatrow stepped in with a golden opportunity. The junior absolutely obliterated one to right center field for his second grand slam of the week, breaking the game open, 6-1.
- Mitchell Dickson made it an 8-1 lead in the top of the fifth with a two-run single up the middle to plate Bryson Hill and Miller Ladusau.
- Tatrow tallied his fifth RBI of the afternoon with a single in the infield to score Brett Hammit. ACU led 10-1 after five.
- SFA scored one in the fifth and two in the ninth, but the damage was done. The sweep was complete.
