BEAUMONT, Texas – The ACU men's tennis team was hit with its first-ever Western Athletic Conference loss on Sunday afternoon, falling 5-2 at the hands of Lamar on the road.
Dario Kmet highlighted the day for the Purple and White, winning his fourth consecutive singles match, the longest current streak on the team.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- The Cardinals picked up the doubles point after wins in the top two flights.Â
- Cesar Barranquero tied the score at 1-1 with a 6-2, 6-2 victory on Court 5 to begin singles action, but Lamar answered with three straight victories to clinch the afternoon.Â
- Kmet went three sets before knocking off Juan Jose Rodriguez in the second set for ACU's final point of the day.Â
