PHOENIX - Wildcats beach volleyball got back underway on Thursday for the first time since the spring of 2020 as they kicked off 2022 with a tri-match at Arizona Christian.
First up for ACU was a match with Missouri State. The Bears took two quick sets at the No. 2 and No. 5 pairs and were able to clinch the win at the No. 4 pair, with the Wildcats falling 21-19 in the second set.
Logan Browning and
Sarah Nading earned the lone win for the Wildcats at the No.3 slot.
It was all Arizona Christian in the second match of the day as they swept the Wildcats, 5-0. Both the No. 2 and No. 4 pairs for ACU pushed the Firestorm to three sets, but fell in a tight third set.

News and Notes
- This was the first competition for the Wildcats since 2020 when their season was abruptly ended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The team also did not play in 2021 due to the indoor season being pushed to the spring.
- The Wildcats feature a lot of new faces in their lineup with only five of their 10 competing players having played beach for ACU prior to this spring. Breanna Box, Logan Browning, Sarah Nading, Brittney Roberts, and Claire Dunn all played in the spring of 2020.

The Wildcats will begin play in the GCU Invitational tomorrow with a match against the hosts before playing two on Saturday against Missouri State and Texas A&M Kingsville.
