CHICAGO – Freshman
Bella Earle scored a career-high score 17 points, the defense held Chicago State to no three-pointers in the game, and the Wildcat women's basketball team bounced back in a big way Monday afternoon against the Cougars, winning 75-52. ACU (15-8, 7-5 WAC) never trailed in the game, and built up as much as a 29-point advantage on its way to a 23-point win. After a tough week with six days on the road, the team was in and out of airports and trying to navigate class and a postponed game due to weather, they finally got to play Chicago State, and came away with a big win to right back into fourth place in the WAC standings.
Turning Point: The first quarter, the start of the fourth quarter.
The Wildcats came out of the game strong, leading 4-0, and building up an 18-point lead. ACU led 24-6 after the first 10 minutes, and blew the game open right away. In the fourth quarter, after a free throw for Chicago State, ACU went on a 9-0 run and a 12-1 run to put the game way out of reach.
