Bonnarens leads ACU with 16 at Lamar

BEAUMONT, Texas – Grad transfer Jamie Bonnarens scored 16 points, senior Madi Miller added 10, but the ACU women's basketball team fell on the road Monday night in the makeup game wtih Lamar at the Montagne Center. The Wildcats (16-11, 8-8 WAC) held a lead the majority of the game, but the Cardinals (12-13, 7-9 WAC) took over in the fourth quarter, outscoring ACU 26-12 in the final 10 minutes to win the game, 70-60. ACU remains in fifth place in the WAC standings, one game out of fourth-place Utah Valley (9-7).

Turning Point: The fourth quarter.
ACU led the majority of the way, and took a 48-44 lead to the fourth. Lamar scored 26 points in the fourth and shot 80% from the floor, including 2-of-3 from distance. They combined that with 8-of-9 from the free throw line to top ACU. The Wildcats shot 20% in the fourth.

- 1Q | The teams combined for just 10 points in the first fiive minutes of the game. ACU then led 9-5 after the first three of the game came from Jamie Bonnarens.
- 2Q | Madi Miller scored the first basket of the second with a jumper in the paint on the fastbreak to lead 14-10.

- Bonnarens pushed her double-digit scoring streak to eight games with 16 points on 5-of-15 shooting, including 3-of-7 from downtown. The grad transfer nabbed six boards as well.
- Miller added 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting, and added three rebounds.
- Mraz tallied nine on three triples, giving her nine over the last two games.
- Tatum Barber scored five points and grabbed a team-high seven boards.
- Cramer added five off the bench.
