ABILENE – The Abilene Christian baseball team picked up its' third win in two days over Michigan State on Monday afternoon, finishing off the series with a 10-2 victory over the Spartans at Crutcher Scott Field. The Purple and White did the bulk of the damage in the home half of the seventh, erupting for nine runs to hold on to the momentum for good.
How It Happened

Miller Ladusau opened the second inning and the scoring with a solo shot that hugged the left field pole.
- The Spartans scratched across a pair of runs in the top of the fifth to get into the ACU bullpen and take a lead.

Bash Randle reached on an error to start the home seventh, and after Ladusau was hit by a pitch,
Tanner Tweedt singled to right to plate Randle and tie the game at 2-2.
- The hits piled up for the Purple and White, as
Hunter Gieser doubled with the bases loaded to break it open and Randle followed with a double of his own to make 8-2.
- When the dust settled, ACU had combined six hits with a pair of Michigan State errors, and the Crutcher Scott scoreboard read 10-2 in favor of the home nine.

Max Huffling picked up hist first win of the season in a relief effort for the Wildcats, holding MSU without a run while fanning four over three innings of work.

Drake Boggan and
Trevor Jackson each turned in a scoreless frame out of the bullpen, giving ACU's relievers a total of five unblemished innings for the day.
- Gieser,
Alexei Cazarin, and
Aaron Staehely combined for seven RBI, while eight different Wildcat hitters came away with a base knock.
Beyond the Box Score
- ACU has swept a power five opponent for the first time in its history.
- The Wildcats outscored their Big Ten opponents 38-7 for the weekend, scoring ten or more runs in each of the three games.
- Huffling has held opposing batters to an average of just .158 so far this season, striking out seven batters over two outings.
- In the 2021 season, ACU won at least three straight on four different occasions, including an 11-game streak from April 24-May 15.
