HUNTSVILLE, Texas—The Wildcats fell behind early in the first set against Sam Houston and never were able to regain their footing as they fell to the Bearkats in four sets. Abilene Christian hit just .070 in the first set but stayed competitive, falling 25-20 in set one. The team came back with a dominant second set, hitting .308 and evening the match at 1-1 with a 25-22 win. In the third set, the Wildcats struggled with errors as they managed just 10 kills to 10 hitting errors and fell 25-14. Despite falling behind early in the fourth set, ACU battled back to get in the match late. Down 24-21, the team fought off three match points, but ultimately fell in extra points, 26-24.

Stat Pack
- Bryley Steinhilber led all hitters with 17 kills in the match and did it on an impressive .311 hitting percentage. This was her fourth match of the season hitting .300 or better and her third such match in conference play. She also notched 11 digs for her 12th double-double on the year.
- Both Madison Rohre and Madeline Guffy had double-doubles as well with Rohre tallying 25 assists and 12 digs and Guffy tallying 24 assists and 12 digs.
- Andie Sheppard had another solid match with 18 digs to lead the team.
News and Notes
- Steinhilber is now up to a team-leading 250 kills on the year and also leads in points per set, averaging 3.0 points per set for the year.
- The team totaled 75 digs in the set and continue to be one of the top four digging teams in the conference, averaging 15.23 digs per set.
Up Next
The Wildcats will close out the regular season on the road next weekend with a trip to UTRGV and NM State. ACU will likely need to secure a win in both matches to have a chance at getting into the conference tournament.
