Wright strikes against Utah Valley

ABILENE  – Senior Caylen Wright scored in the second half, fellow veteran Natalie Jones tallied three shot attempts, but the ACU soccer team fell to Utah Valley at Elmer Gray Stadium on Friday night, 4-2. The Wildcats (4-7-4, 0-5-3 WAC) trailed 2-0 in the first half, and despite an early second-half goal, the Wolverines (10-3-3, 6-1-1 WAC) scored quickly again to regain momentum and pull away for the victory. ACU will wrap up the weekend with a home date on Sunday against Seattle U.

The Goals
- 9' | Faith Webber scored the first goal of the game on an assist from Hannah Lee.
- 24' | Lee then capitalized on a goal off an assist from Nicole Olanda to make it 2-0 Utah Valley.
- 47' | Caylen Wright took the ball down the field and did it herself on the right side to get ACU on the board early in the second half.
- 51' | Less than four minutes later, Utah Valley responded with a goal off a free kick from Heather Stainbrook.
- 66' | Stainbrook scored her second of the game to make it 4-1 UVU.

The Numbers
- Utah Valley led 21-12 in shot attempts, including 9-5 in shots placed on frame.
- The Wolverines led 11-3 in corner kicks earned.
- Wright scored career goal number 19, moving her into fifth in ACU history.
