RIVERSIDE, Calif.—Abilene Christian opened the night with a dominant first set win over California Baptist but dropped the next three sets to fall 3-1. The Wildcats got out to a 6-0 lead in set one and never allowed the Lancers back in the set to take a 25-17 first set win. CBU flipped the script on ACU and used early leads in the second and third sets to earn wins and take a 2-1 lead. The fourth set was the most competitive of the night with the teams trading points early, but ACU was able to pull away for a six-point lead at one time. The Lancers fought their way back into the fourth set and used a 9-3 run to close out the match.
