ABILENE – Emily Heidman gave the Wildcats a game-winning goal in the 98th minute on Saturday, giving Abilene Christian its' first-ever Western Athletic Conference win. The Purple and White knocked off UTRGV in the second overtime game of the weekend.
"It was a good win today," said head coach
Casey Wilson. "We need to win at home and picking up four points this weekend was important. We like where we are at this point in the season knowing we are playing well with a lot of improvement still ahead of us."

Chayse Thorn found the back of the net to open the scoring.
- 44' | The Vaqueros answered quickly, with Elina Seppala launching the equalizer just before the first half came to a close.
- 47' | Anna Torslov wasted little time to give UTGRV their first lead of the afternoon, scoring less than two minutes after the intermission.

Natalie Wodka connected with
Taylor Denn, who answered by becoming the second Wildcat freshman of the day to record her first career goal.
- 98' | An attempted clearance by the UTRGV back line was snuffed out by
Alyssia Anuat, who turned and sent the ball toward the box. Heidman headed it home just inside the left post, and the Wildcats finished the day with three points in the WAC standings.
The Numbers
- ACU outshot their guests 22-20, but UTRGV put 10 shots on frame, one more than the Wildcats.
- Sunday's game saw balance in the foul calls, with each team being whistled for 10.
- Wodka led ACU with six shot attempts, while Denn and
Nicole Barham took two apiece.
- Abilene Christian keeper
Lily Foster picked up eight saves between the posts, her second-highest total of the season.

- The Wildcats host Chicago State next Saturday, with opening whistle slated for 11:00 a.m. The game will air on the WAC Digital Network, and ACU will be celebrating its' annual Pink Game the same day.
