Foster, defense lead 'Cats against Lamar

ABILENE – Lily Foster tallied six saves, Christina Arteaga and Brianna Diaz each tallied two shot attempts, and the ACU soccer team battled the Lamar Cardinals to a 0-0 draw Friday night at Elmer Gray Stadium. The defenses dominated from start to finish, and the second half featured the majority of the offensive looks in the game in both team's WAC opener. Both teams took seven shot attempts in the second half, and both teams added two more in the second overtime in the scoreless tie.

"We had our chances tonight to put the game away throughout the game," said head coach Casey Wilson. "Lamar is a good team. Right now the focus is on Sunday's game. But we definitely had our chances tonight."

The Numbers
- Lamar led 2-0 in shot attempts at halftime, but the offenses picked up in the second half with seven apiece. The Cardinals led 6-2 in shots on frame.
- The Cardinals led 5-0 in shot attempts in the first overtime, and it was even in the second OT (2-2).
- Lily Foster tallied six saves in net.
- Arteaga and Diaz each tallied two shot attempts, while the other shots came from Natalie Jones, Jordan Michie, Natalie Wodka, Megan Paul, and Grace Ornelas.
