Wildcats host Panthers in final non-conference match

ABILENE - ACU Volleyball will be back in action on Wednesday night in the Teague Center after eight days off between matches. The team last competed at Oklahoma last Tuesday where they fell in straight sets but pushed the Sooners the the limit, including a 33-31 loss in set two. With last weekend off, the Wildcats are primed and ready to get back into action when they host Prairie View A&M tomorrow at 6 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY

ACU holds the 2-0 series lead over the Panthers with both wins coming in 2019. The Wildcats won in four sets on the road before winning a five-set thriller in the Wildcat Classic that fall. Lindsey Toney set an ACU DI record with eight aces in the teams meeting in Abilene that year. 

ACU STORYLINES

  • Brea Box has continued her stellar play and has hit .467 or better in five-straight matches. She leads the team with a .335 hitting percentage. 
  • Lindsey Toney leads ACU with 4.76 kills per set which ranks second in the WAC. 
  • Madison Rohre leads the WAC with 10.65 assists per set and is 29th in the NCAA in the same category. 
  • Madison Lawler ranks eighth in the WAC in digs per set with 4.06 and has notched double-digit digs in all but one match on the year. 

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS

  • PVAMU is still looking for their first win of the year. The team is 0-12 and has just one set win this season.
  • Mia Goffney leads the Panthers with a .242 hitting percentage in 10 matches. Tiffany Booe leads the way with 59 total kills. 
  • Skyla Childs leads Prairie View with 3.86 digs per set.
