ABILENE – Natalie Wodka and
Caylen Wright each scored goals in the second half, and the Abilene Christian soccer team got a much-needed win in dramatic fashion Sunday afternoon at Elmer Gray Stadium. ACU (2-4) trailed the Grambling Tigers 1-0 in the second half, but got an equalizer from Wodka and the game-winner from Wright to complete the comeback and cap off Senior Day in style. Prior to the game, ACU honored its 10 seniors who have combined now for 49 wins as a class since coming to campus.
"We found a way today," said head coach Casey Wilson. "With a team sitting in like Grambling did today, it can be frustrating. But we need our players to perform assignments better in order to break teams down. I am proud of the group on the field that stuck it out today to put a couple in the net."
The Goals
- 52' | Grambling's Kaily Pena scored on the right side to put the visitors on the board.
