ABILENE—In just their second Southland Conference tournament appearance, the Wildcats pushed the five seed to extra innings on Wednesday night. Playing against the tournament hosts, Southeastern Louisiana, ACU fell behind early but were able to come back to tie the game late.
The Lady Lions would push a run across in each of the first three innings, while the Wildcats scored one in the top of the third. The teams would play two scoreless innings in the fourth and fifth before ACU was able to tie the game in the top of the sixth. Back-to-back doubles from
Samantha Bradley and
Avery Miloch pushed one run across before
Katelyn Belch drove Miloch in to tie the game.
After no score in the seventh, the Wildcats were unable to build off a one-out single in the top of the eighth. The Lady Lions got back-to-back hits in the bottom of the inning to earn the walk-off win.
