ABILENE -- Abilene Christian's men's and women's tennis teams made quick work of its neighboring rivals from McMurry Saturday at the Eager Tennis Center as the Wildcats blanked the Warhawks, 5-0, in each contest. The total running time of the combined doubleheader lasted no longer than two hours as the women improved to 11-12 overall, while the men raised their record to 8-14.
The women's team shut out its doubles opposition and followed with four-straight convincing straight-set wins by seniors

The men's match followed a similar pattern as its No. 2 and 3 doubles won by scores of 6-1 and 6-2. Then in singles they won four matches in straight sets, leaving two unfinished. Today's victors were Riley Tran, Oswaldo Cano, Jose Maria Rastrojo and Andrew Otzenberger.
Next up for the Wildcats is the Southland Conference Championship Tournament, which runs April 23 to 25 in Beaumont, Texas. The women are the six seed and will play No. 3 seed Central Arkansas Friday at 10 a.m. The men will know their postseason fate midday Sunday, needing Nicholls to beat UIW to clinch the No. 4 seed.
