McLeod drops 25, ACU meets Loyola Chicago on Sunday

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Redshirt senior Anna McLeod has now scored in double figures in seven straight games after her 25-point effort led the Wildcats on Saturday against the FIU Panthers in the consolation game of the Women's Basketball Invitational. After a red-hot start for ACU offensively, FIU pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back on their way to a 78-61 win. ACU got it to as close as 13 in the second half, but the shooting went cold and FIU took advantage of turnovers to pick up the win. ACU (14-12) shot 40% from the field in the game, but only 26% from the three-point line in the loss.

After a 4-6 start from behind the arc, the Wildcats shot made just four of their next 25 from distance. McLeod continued to fight despite three fouls in the first half. The Houston native only played seven first-half minutes, but tallied eight points anyway, and added another 17 in the second half to lead the way with 25.
