Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

McLeod leads ACU with 22 points in her final game

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Redshirt senior Anna McLeod scored 22 points in her final game as a Wildcat on Sunday against the Loyola Chicago Ramblers in the last game of the Women's Basketball Invitational. ACU trailed 21-14 at the end of the first quarter, and Loyola pulled away after that, topping the Wildcats (14-13) 74-55. ACU got within eight points in the second half, but the Ramblers shot 64% from the floor in the fourth quarter to pull away.

The season comes to a close for the Wildcats, who finish a game over .500 at 14-13. ACU earned a No. 7 seed in the Southland Conference Tournament, and fell in the second round to Nicholls after defeating UIW in the opening round. The Wildcats have never finished .500 or worse in their Division I history, and this team won more than they lost as well. ACU beat Northern Colorado on the road, played well with #10 Texas A&M, and beat Southeastern Louisiana, who finished as the No. 2 seed in the league tournament.

Thank You Seniors
McLeod, Adams, Josie Larson, and Makayla Mabry's careers come to an end, and the four are as prolific of a class as any in ACU history. The combination won 77 games including 44 Southland contests. The four combined for 2,466 points and the group was a big part of the success across the program, including the trip to the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
