Anna McLeod has now scored in double figures in six straight games after her 16-point effort led the Wildcats on Friday against the Portland Pilots in the first round of the Women's Basketball Invitational. Portland grabbed the lead early and never surrendered, converting turnovers into baskets and holding ACU (14-11) to a season-low in points. The Wildcats fell 67-42 and will now await the loser of Florida International and Northern Arizona to match up with in the consolation side of the bracket on Saturday.
The game was tied at seven apiece, but Portland then went on a 16-0 run that spanned the final five minutes of the first quarter and the early moments of the second period. The Wildcats tried to get back in it, but struggled to make shots and had turnovers that led to points. UP scored 33 points off 32 turnovers in the game, and shot 55% from the floor compared to ACU's 26%.

- ACU was excellent on the glass, out-rebounding Portland 38-27, including 19 offensive boards.
- McLeod led the way with a game-best 16 points on 6-12 from the floor, and went 2-7 from the three-point line. The Houston native added five rebounds.
